MIDDLETOWN COMMISSION ON THE ARTS Poet Laureate Committee meeting Aug. 20, 2018, 6 p.m. City Hall B19 1) Call to order: Chairwoman Crystal Laffan called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. with Chairwoman Cassandra Day and Commissioner Franca Biales present. Julia Faraci arrived at 6:22 p.m. 2) Public session: No members of the public present 3) Application process review: Subcommittee members reported they have reached out to the literary community extensively to get the word out about filling the position and have encouraged the poetry community to apply. Only two applications have been received. Members were given copies of the applications to review. The subcommittee will discuss the current status of the search with the full commission at the Sept. 26 meeting. 4) Other: None 5) Adjournment: Laffan concluded the meeting at 6:34 p.m.
