CITY OF MIDDLETOWN BOARD OF ASSESSMENT APPEALS 245 DE KOVEN DRIVE MIDDLETOWN, CT 06457 (860) 638-4930 ———————————————————————————————————————— Minutes of December 18, 2023 Board of Assessment Appeals MEMBERS PRESENT Shawn Paradis Rebecca McClanahan Anita Schofield MEETING CALLED TO ORDER Rebecca McClanahan called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. PUBLIC COMMENT Public session opened at 6:31 pm. No one from the public was present so the public session was closed at 6:32 pm. DISCUSSIONS Discussion was held between all three members regarding the available positions of Chairman and Secretary. All three members agreed to postpone the official decision for the open positions on this board to the next meeting in January of 2024. All dates have been set and approved unanimously for the spring and fall Appeal Hearings for 2024. This information is being submitted to the Town Clerk to post on the website. The dates chosen are March 4,5,6,11,12,13 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. (Appts will be scheduled) March 16th (Saturday) will be from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm March 18 & 19 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm (only if needed) Motor Vehicle Hearings will be held on September 11, 2024 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. As always, the motor vehicle appeals are on a first come first serve basis. There will be no scheduled appointments for these hearings. All hearings will be in the Middletown City Hall Assessor’s Office. MEETING ADJOURNED Motion to adjourn was made by Rebecca McClanahan at 7:01 and seconded by Shawn Paradis.
