Future Woodrow Wilson Middle School Update Vinnie Loffredo recently was appointed to the new school committee. Further discussion will be had in regards to how the $50K will be spent towards the new building. Professional services will help to locate an architect. V. Status of Middletown High School Fuel Cell The Middletown High had concerns about the contract which is not easy to change so we need to move forward. We generate 180k/year of revenue for the fuel cell but need to do some fine tuning concerning the costs where the contract didn’t protect us as we had thought it would. Middletown High discovered units being little higher than we needed. Michael Harris will question Eversource why they are running more than we need. We need to be on the distributed generation rider which is a better deal and protect us against the demand charges as well as coverage for maintenance after hours. They will also be able to tell us how to get space heat from the unit and how to reduce natural gas costs. Vinnie Loffredo suggested that people go to the high school and take a look at the fuel cell. We need to hold the people who currently hold the contract accountable for issues that arise. David Bauer stated it came in as a 200 kW fuel cell and now the smallest unit is a 400 kW and asked if we could do periodic running of the generator on down time instead of peak. (Continued) - Page 2 – Michael Harris will be meeting Doosan and Constellation and will inform the Facilities Committee when this will be so those who wish can attend as well. VI. Macdonough School Heating Issues This was addressed and staff was shown directions with the heat. VII.
