Motion by Leslie Spatola, 2nd by Robyn Anderson. 1 abstention. Motion passed. Public Hearing for Agenda Items:  None Department Reports  Director Elak provided an update on the following: o The grant program with the Governor’s Prevention Partnership is coming to a close. The health department distributed over 5000 Deterra drug deactivation disposal bags in 2024, the most out of any other grantee in the state. A press conference was held on August 30th with federal, state, and local officials. o The health department is partnering with Stop & Shop Pharmacy to offer o Vaccination clinics in Middletown and Cromwell in September – November.  o 18 AED units were purchased using LoCIP funding. All units have been distributed to city buildings. Every city building (not including Board of Ed) now has at least one AED unit. The Middletown Fire Department is holding a “Hands Only” CPR training for City Employees on September 30th.  Public Health Manager Davis provided a report on activities within the Environmental Health, Housing Code Enforcement, Emergency Preparedness, and Health Education divisions.
