Chair Santangelo states thank you for reminding us of the need for these services.
Councilman Daley asks the Council indulgence to explain, this is the City Council and it is helpful for you to
come and educate us about the concerns you have; but it is not within the power of the Council to offer
funding for the services. The City of Middletown has been on the leading edge for protecting the services of
disabled individuals. Middletown is the first to service people with disabilities at our shelters when they are
opened. I have a good appreciation of the great work that DDS does and hopefully the state legislature will
find a way to provide these resources.
