City of Middletown Complete Streets Committee Regular Meeting Minutes Monday, February 14, 2022, 7 PM Location: Online WEBEX Meeting Attendees: Laura Baum, John Hall, Lisa Liesener, Zoemma Warshafsky, Tom Quirk, Joe Samolis (launched mtg but didn’t attend) 1. New/current projects: - ALT-FCT Connector Study Update - John reported that the federal grant has been received. Money expected to be contributed from the city and state as well. - Bike education program at MPS status - Article in Middletown Press was very positive. PE teacher Shamika Jackson is very excited about this project. 2. Ongoing projects: - Micro-Transit: bike share program RFP -No updates as Joe Samolis was not at this meeting - Bike Friendly Middletown application -No updates 3. Reports from other pertinent regular meetings/events: - Middletown Health and Wellness Committee - No updates - ECOIN - John reported that the bike lane painting project is underway. They are in the fundraising stage and trying to raise money using Sustainable CT matching funds program. This project has grown considerably in scope since it was originally pitched to and supported by our committee. New Business: - Bike/Ped access between Miller Street and Cromwell along Route 9 - Idea from Tony Cherolis at Transport Hartford - Committee administration and recruitment: - Membership updates: no candidates for new members.
