CITY OF MIDDLETOWN DESIGN REVIEW AND PRESERVATION BOARD REGULAR MEETING MINUTES September 8, 2021 6:00 PM Meeting was held online. Members of the public had access to the meeting as follows: 1. Going to https://webex.com and joining the meeting using the appropriate meeting number and password 2. Public Comment for Items on the Agenda None. II. Old Business 1. New Science Building & Shanklin Renovation. Wesleyan University. Church St, Lawn Ave, & High St. SPR2021-80. The Board expressed that it wasn’t clear exactly which buildings be demolished and seek clarification. Motion to table the application by Holzberg, seconded by Mills Voting in Favor: Holzberg, Mills, Middleton, Kronenberger Voting Against: Plumley, Bianco Passes 3-2 III. New Business 1. Building Addition. Aston house LLC. 324 Washington Street. SPR2021-137 Steve Rocco, Architect described the proposal to construct a 2 story addition to the rear of the building which includes a new front porch which is most accessible from the parking lot in the rear. Motion to approve the addition with the condition that the applicant return for a final approvals with details with material, color and historic details at a later time the application by Mills, seconded by Kronenberger Passes unanimously 7-0 IV.
