City Middletown, CT Economic Development Committee Minutes from the Economic Development Committee Special Meeting of October 23, 2019 Present: G. Daley, R. Santangelo, D. Kleckowski P. Pessina Absent: V. Cotton, Staff: J. Samolis Minutes 1. Call to Order: Chairman G. Daley called the meeting to order at 6:03 PM. 2. Public Session: No members of the public spoke. 3. Communications: There were no communications. 4. Old Business – There was no old business. 5. New Business Move funds from the Economic Development Fund to Economic Development Initiative Line Chairman Daley explained that the Boathouse bBuilding Committee was looking to have three concepts done by DiBattisto Associates LLC so that the Building Committee can give a report for the Council to Consider for future referenda. The first concept would be to leave the current boathouse there with a new boathouse for Middletown High to be located just to the north of the existing location. The existing boathouse would get some modest upgrades as well. The second would be for a new boathouse in the existing location that is slightly larger in size and the third option would be a larger boathouse (approximately 12,000sqft) to be placed to the north of the existing boathouse and leaving the existing facility as is. The cost for these three renditions would be $18,000. Motion was made by Phil Pessina to transfer funding to the Initiatives line in the amount of $18,000, seconded by Bob Santangelo. Unanimously approved. 6. Adjournment D. Kleckowski made a motion, seconded by B. Santangelo to adjourn the meeting. Vote: Unanimous in favor of the motion The meeting was adjourned. 1
