Committee Members:​ ​ ​Committee Staff Councilman Robert Blanchard, Chairman Chris Holden, Middletown Dept. of Public Works Ken McClellan, Vice Chairman Steve Nelson, MPN Architects Ron Organek Jerry Augustine Mike Rogalsky Phil Cacciola Larry Riley Arthur Meyers Ed Monarca MIDDLETOWN MILITARY MUSEUM BUILDING COMMITTEE SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES FRIDAY, May 25, 2018 11am ROOM B-19 245 deKOVEN DRIVE, MIDDLETOWN, CT 1) Chairman Calls Meeting to Order The Chair called the meeting to order at 11:04am. We had a quorum of 5 members present. 2) Public Hearing No members of the public wished to speak. 3) Approval of Minutes a) Regular Meeting: May 6, 2018 Ken McClellan made the edit to add to the motion to approve Change Order #5 and Change Order #6. The same individuals that made the motion to add also made the motion to approve. With those edits, Ed Monarca made a motion to approve the minutes, Ron Organek seconded the motion. No discussion. The motion to approve the minutes passed unanimously. 4) Financial Report No updates to the financial report from the May 6 meeting. Ken McClellan made the motion to approve. Mike Rogalsky seconded the motion. No discussion. The motion to approve the financial report passed unanimously. 5) Bills/Invoices a) J.A. Rosa, Change Order #5, $248.00 (5/9/18) b) J.A. Rosa, Change Order #6, $2,183.86 (4/2/18) Change Orders #5 and #6 were approved at the May 6 meeting. c) J.A. Rosa, Change Order $7, $223.96 (5/22/18) Due to an anonymous gift, the committee saved $400 in light fixture materials. Ken McClellan made the motion to approve the change order. Ed Monarca seconded the motion. There was no discussion. The motion to approve passed unanimously. 6) Staff Updates: “We are getting a new window and working new door locks. Those are the last two things and we should be all set to get the C.O., with one minor issue. The inside will be all set, the outside needs sidewalks. Sidewalks will allow for the building to be granted a C.O.” 7) Construction Updates: 8) Old Business a) Carpeting/Flooring Total square footage of carpeting needed is 3,300 sq. ft. The museum needs a 15 ounce weight carpet, 2’x2’, rubber-backed, nylon faced, square tiles. Committee is going out for pricing. 9) New Business 10) Adjournment A motion to adjourn was made by Ken McClellan and seconded by Mike Rogalsky. There was no discussion and the motion to adjourn passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 12:03pm.
