PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATIONS LOCATION: Portland MONDAY, January 6, 2020 11:00 A.M. ---------- Minutes---------- Attendance: Members Present Chairman Ross Andrew Commissioner Dave Darling (SFD) Commissioner Gene Nocera (MFD) Members Absent Commissioner Susan Bransfield (PFD) Staff Present Robert Grauer – Deputy Director of Central Communications Chief Robert Kronenberger – Middletown Fire Deputy Fire Chief Al Leary – Middletown Fire Battalion Chief Mike Agogliati – Middletown Fire Chief Robert Shea – Portland Fire Department Lt. Desena – Middletown Police Department Eric Larson – Hunter’s Ambulance Lori Ruffino – Recording Secretary Public Present None CALL TO ORDER Chairman Andrew called the meeting to order at 11:01 a.m. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Commissioner Darling made a motion to accept the minutes as presented and all voted in favor. January 6, 2020 minutes PUBLIC HEARING o None CORRESPONDENCE o None MONTHLY REPORT o Deputy Director Grauer gave the monthly report: o Call statistics sheet was handed out for December: o December was about the same as previous months o Down 4% from last year for case numbers but 9-1-1 calls are up 2% o EMD for October was 95.22 and November was 96.35 – will try to pick up months missed and report on them next month o Staffing Update: o Currently at 19 – full staff is 21 o One of the 19 is in training and will be online effective January 20th o Currently on day sheet for evaluation o No current active list exists but will begin hiring process when Director Bartolotta returns January 6, 2020 minutes OLD BUSINESS o Radio Project update: o Still working with the State for the connectivity to go live state wide – target is the end of January  All equipment is in – waiting on Motorola technicians to come out and configure it so testing can begin  Passed the audit of the grounding – no issues were found  Westfield has deployed their 800 pagers – no issues found & are working on getting more for next fiscal year  Currently connected to Motorola for remote monitoring as of January 1st - if there are any issues on their end they put in a ticket, they advise us, and they dispatch Utility automatically o Sign off extended a couple of months – looking at February/March as well as state connectivity o Maintenance agreement extension voted on and approved by Council  Currently under contract - January 1, 2021 begins cost of the agreement NEW BUSINESS o None ADJOURNMENT Chairman Andrew made a motion to adjourn, Commissioner Darling so moved, and the meeting was adjourned at 11:07 a.m. Submitted, Lori Ruffino Recording Secretary Next meeting to be held on February 3, 2020 in Middletown
