PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATIONS LOCATION: via WebEx MONDAY, September 13, 2021 11:00 A.M. ---------- Minutes---------- Attendance: Members Present Chairman Ross Andrew Commissioner Susan Bransfield (PFD) Commissioner Seb Guiliano Commissioner Gene Nocera Members Absent None Staff Present Wayne Bartolotta – Director of Central Communications Robert Grauer – Deputy Director of Central Communications Jay Woron – Chief, Middletown Fire Jim Trzaski – Chief, South Fire District Mike Desena – Lieutenant, Middletown Police Department Don Gouin – Portland Emergency Management Erik Larson – Hunter’s Ambulance Public Present None CALL TO ORDER Chairman Andrew called the meeting to order at 11:07 a.m. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING  September 13, 2021 minutes PUBLIC HEARING o None CORRESPONDENCE o None MONTHLY REPORT o Director Bartolotta gave the monthly report:  Call statistics were emailed out o AT&T having issues with the management information server – waiting on data, once received Director Bartolotta will forward to everyone  Staffing: o Currently at 18 – full is 21 o New dispatch trainee starting next week o Additional hiring process to be held in October  The Common Council approved the AT&T tower lease at Mile Lane – the application needs to go to the Ct. Siting Council for further review & approval  Completed testing of building amplifier in the new middle school – will use the same testing process in other large buildings including Wesleyan University  Generator maintenance update: in the process of replacing all batteries  HVAC unit being replaced using LOCIP funds, purchase order in place, and unit should be replaced with the next 10-12 weeks at a cost of $12,000 OLD BUSINESS o Meeting format of future meetings discussed briefly o Commission will continue to meet on a monthly basis via WebEx NEW BUSINESS o None  September 13, 2021 minutes ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Andrew moved for adjournment, Commission Nocera so moved, and the meeting was adjourned at 11:20 a.m. Respectfully Submitted, Lori Ruffino Recording Secretary
