PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATIONS LOCATION: via WebEx MONDAY, November 1, 2021 11:00 A.M. ---------- Minutes---------- Attendance: Members Present Chairman Ross Andrew Commissioner Susan Bransfield (PFD) Commissioner Seb Guiliano Commissioner Gene Nocera Members Absent None Staff Present Wayne Bartolotta – Director of Central Communications Robert Grauer – Deputy Director of Central Communications Jay Woron – Chief, Middletown Fire Department Dave Albert – Deputy Chief, Middletown Fire Department Jim Trzaski – Chief, South Fire District Erik Larson – Hunter’s Ambulance Public Present Michael Agogliati CALL TO ORDER Chairman Andrew called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Chairman Andrew made a motion to accept the minutes from the October 4, 2021 meeting, Commissioner Nocera so moved, Commissioner Bransfield seconded, and all voted in favor to accept the minutes as presented.  November 1, 2021 minutes PUBLIC HEARING o None CORRESPONDENCE o None MONTHLY REPORT o Director Bartolotta gave the monthly report:  Call statistics were emailed out o Telephone activity was 13,000 calls – up slightly for police & fire o Administrative calls up – little unusual for this time of year  Staffing update: o Dispatcher 19 in progress & progressing well  Completed staff training on Enhanced Caller Management for professional development and CPR re-certifications were done  Deputy Director Grauer working with police, fire, Middlesex Hospital, and the Board of Ed. reviewing the active shooter protocols  Motorola currently on scene & continuing the major upgrades to the system – no real problems with coverage reported  Fire Alarm panel replacement needed as it’s approaching end of life – replacement parts hard to come by o Fire department is engaging in replacing as it falls under the Alarms Division which is under the Middletown Fire Department OLD BUSINESS o None NEW BUSINESS o None  November 1, 2021 minutes ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Andrew entertained a motion for adjournment, Commissioner Bransfield so moved, and the meeting was adjourned at 11:09 a.m. ***Director Bartolotta stated that it has been a pleasure working with Commission Bransfield and that she will be missed.
