PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATIONS LOCATION: via WebEx MONDAY, January 3, 2022 11:00 A.M. ---------- Minutes---------- Attendance: Members Present Chairman Ross Andrew Commissioner Ryan Curley (PFD) Commissioner Seb Giuliano Commissioner Gene Nocera Members Absent None Staff Present Robert Grauer – Deputy Director of Central Communications Jay Woron – Chief, Middletown Fire Department Mike Desena – Middletown Police Department Erik Larson – Hunter’s Ambulance Public Present Michael Agogliati CALL TO ORDER Chairman Andrew called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Chairman Andrew made a motion to accept the minutes from the December 6, 2021 meeting, Commissioner Giuliano so moved, and all voted in favor to accept the minutes as presented. PUBLIC HEARING o None CORRESPONDENCE o None January 3, 2022 minutes MONTHLY REPORT o Deputy Director Grauer gave the monthly report:  Call statistics were emailed out o December had approximately 5,600 incidents, 2,100 9-1-1 calls, and 6,000 administrative calls. Total incident numbers up 16% as compared to last year and 9-1-1 calls up 7% from last year  Staffing update: o 19 on staff, full is 21 o 18 are on line and number 19 is in the training process o Trainer position filled & started today – trainer has been acting since mid- October o Civilian dispatcher position to be posted soon  HVAC unit on Saybrook Road replaced  LoCIP funding request on tonight’s Council meeting for the replacement of batteries for the UPS system for approximately $25,000  Mile Lane cell site update: o Director Bartolotta provided testimony to the siting council on December 21st. Next session to be held on February 23rd – AT&T and the City will be interviewed  Upon Director Bartolotta’s return the inter-local agreement discussions will start with Portland – current contract ends in June OLD BUSINESS o None NEW BUSINESS o None ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Andrew entertained a motion for adjournment, Commissioner Nocera so moved, Commissioner Giuliano seconded, and the meeting was adjourned at 11:05 a.m. Respectfully Submitted, Lori Ruffino Recording Secretary
