PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATIONS LOCATION: via WebEx MONDAY, May 2, 2022 11:00 A.M. ---------- Minutes---------- Attendance: Members Present Chairman Ross Andrew Commissioner Ryan Curley (PFD Commissioner Seb Giuliano Members Absent Commissioner Gene Nocera Staff Present Wayne Bartolotta – Director of Central Communications Robert Grauer – Deputy Director of Central Communications Jay Woron – Chief, Middletown Fire Department Erik Costa – Chief, Middletown Police Department Rich Davis – Deputy Chief, Middletown Police Department Erik Larson – Hunter’s Ambulance Public Present Mike Agogliati CALL TO ORDER Chairman Andrew called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Chairman Andrew entertained a motion to accept the minutes from the May 2, 2022 meeting, Commissioner Giuliano moved to accept, and all voted in favor to accept the minutes as presented. PUBLIC HEARING o None May 2, 2022 minutes CORRESPONDENCE o None MONTHLY REPORT o Director Bartolotta gave the monthly report:  Call statistics were emailed out o Slightly down statistical o Approximately 11,000 calls for the month  Police Chief Costa stated that he would like to meet with the Chiefs regarding call typing. He is trying to get granular with data collection. o Communications Director Bartolotta will set this up and stated that fire is dictated on how incidents are reported  Staffing update: o Currently at 19 o Losing two – one retirement coming by the end of the fiscal year and one transfer from Central Communications to the Board of Ed. o in process of hiring & Director Bartolotta will keep the Commission posted  Mile Lane site update on AT&T’s bid to put a cell tower site on the property o AT&T had motioned to reopen the docket to the siting council to present additional evidence for an alternative – siting council denied that motion and now pending siting council decision  Budget process currently in the hands of the Common council – waiting for release of approved budget  All radio sites are generator powered in case of loss of power – every year they are serviced and are maintained throughout the year OLD BUSINESS o None NEW BUSINESS o Next meeting to be held in June – July & August meetings are cancelled May 2, 2022 minutes ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Andrew entertained a motion for adjournment, Commissioner Giuliano so moved, and the meeting was adjourned at 11:26 a.m. Respectfully Submitted, Lori Ruffino Recording Secretary Next meeting to be held on Monday, June 6, 2022
