Russell Library Executive Committee Special Meeting March 12, 2024, 5:00 PM Present: Trustees Becker, Fulton, Nelson, Schulenburg, and Wisneski; Library Director Burkey Draft minutes and accompanying materials can be requested in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act. MINUTES 1. Call to Order - President Wisneski called the meeting to order at 5:04 p.m. 2. Public Comment - There were no members of the public present and no relevant emails or messages. 3. Approval of Minutes of 6/6/2023 Meeting - MOTION: It was moved (Trustee Becker) and seconded (Trustee Schulenburg) to approve the 6/6/2023 Executive Committee minutes. The motion passed all in favor. 4. Approval of Minutes of 7/17/2023 Special Meeting - MOTION: It was moved (Trustee Becker) and seconded (Trustee Schulenburg) to approve the 7/17/2023 Executive Committee minutes. The motion passed all in favor. 5. Approval of new Trustee appointment to fill J. Samolis’ term 2022-2025 - President Wisneski shared that Andrew White has been nominated to fill the position. He is the current director of the Wesleyan library here in Middletown. He was on the Russell Library Strategic Planning Advisory Council and Vision Committee. He has been involved with Pride in town and has been a big supporter of the community since moving here. MOTION: It was moved (Trustee Wisneski) and seconded (Trustee Fulton) to approve the nomination of Andrew White to fill the  remainder of J. Samolis’ term. The term goes until June 2025. J. Samolis will stay connected to the library as a member of the Feasibility Committee. The motion passed unanimously in favor of the nomination of Andrew White to fill out the remainder of Joseph Samolis’ term as Russell Library trustee. This nomination will go to the full Board of Trustees at the board meeting on 2/19/24. 6. Adjournment - MOTION: It was moved (Trustee Fulton) and seconded (Trustee Becker) to adjourn at 5:13 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
