SANITATION COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2020 TIME: 4:30 P.M. MUNICIPAL BUILDING ROOM 208 MIDDLETOWN CONNECTICUT Members Present: Chair Seb Santacroce Thomas Goglia John Ucello Members Absent: John Porter Monica J. Belyea, MPH, RD Staff Present: William J. Russo, Public Works Director Lee Muscatello, Tax Collector Chair Santacroce opened the Sanitation Commission meeting at 4:30 P.M. He requested a motion to approve the minutes from September 29, 2020. A motion was made to approve the minutes. The motion was seconded and approved unanimously. Correspondence: None Lee Muscatello- Tax Collector came before the Sanitation Commission to review the delinquent accounts. She stated to the Commission that by law she is able to collect delinquent balances that go back 15 years. They work on collecting delinquent balances on year at a time. Right now they are working on 2008. NEW BUSINESS: a. Sanitation Depreciation Fund Resolution- Sanitation Depreciation Fund is used to make purchases of Capital Non-Recurring items such as Dumpsters, Waste Removal Containers, Refuse Trucks and Vehicles. The Sanitation Depreciation Fund budget will be funded as follows: Dumpsters and Accessories $30,000 Waste Removal Containers/Supplies $20,000 Refuse Truck & Components $5,000 Vehicle/Truck Replacement $ 45,000 Director Russo ask the Commission for approval of the Sanitation Depreciation Fund Resolution. A motion was made to approve the Resolution. The motion was seconded and approved unanimously. OLD BUSINESS: a. Municipal Solid Waste Disposal Service Agreement starting 01/01/2021- Director Russo has given the Commission the contract for review. b. Cardboard Report – The Sanitation Commission reviewed their cardboard reports. c. Tonnage Report – The Sanitation Commission reviewed their tonnage reports. Director Russo was asked by Seb if the tonnage was as expected and it was explained that it was. OTHER: As there was no further discussion, a motion was made by John Porter to adjourn. Motion was seconded by Thomas Goglia and approved unanimously. The Sanitation Commission meeting adjourned at 4:45 P.M.
