City of Middletown Middletown Veterans’ Park Pool & Splash Pad Building Committee SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES Monday, October 24, 2022 Time: 6:30 PM 1. Chairman opens meeting at 6:30 PM. 2. Minutes – None 3. Public Comment on Agenda Items- None 4. Correspondence – None 5. New Business a. Project update- Director Holden stated that there has been great progress on this project. The pool is formed out, interior work and installation of utilities is happening. Hindrin Saeed is the Construction Inspector and Engineer on site for this project. He shared that the contractor is currently working inside and outside. Their goal is to get all the site work completed so that in the cold months they can continue to work on the interior of the building. In following weeks rebar will be installed for the pool, retaining walls put in and the new structure built. He anticipates the pool being poured around the second week of November. A change order will need to be put through to make a change in design to add a surge tank in a certain area. There is a consensus understanding on the change order. b. CJ Fucci invoice- $633,390.86- Director Holden stated this is the second payment application for site utilities, site work and preparation. Both Hindrin Saeed and Director Holden have reviewed this invoice and he recommends it for payment. A motion was made to approve the invoice by Councilman Pessina and seconded by Councilman Marino. There was no objection and the motion passed unanimously. c. SLR Invoice- $30,601.69- Director Holden stated that this is billed for monitoring and inspection of the site. He has reviewed and recommends it for approval. Deborah Petruzzello made a motion to approve and Anthony Jaskot seconded the motion. There was no objection and the motion passed unanimously. 6. Old Business- None 7. Other- Councilman Pessina requested a balance sheet for next meeting so that the committee can see where funding is on this project. The meeting adjourned at 6:57 PM
