City of Middletown Middletown Veterans’ Park Pool & Splash Pad Building Committee MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, January 11, 2023 Time: 6:00 PM Members Present: Councilman Gene Nocera Councilman Ed McKeon Councilman Mike Marino Deborah Petruzzello, Committee Member Anthony Jaskot, Committee Member Staff Present: Christopher M. Holden, P.E., Director of Public Works Cathy Lechowicz, Director of Recreation Others Present: Hindrin Saeed- SLR 1. Chairman opens meeting at 6:00 PM. 2. Minutes – Councilman McKeon made a motion to approve the minutes dated December 14, 2022. Councilman Marino seconded the motion. There was no objection and the motion passed unanimously. 3. Public Comment on Agenda Items- None 4. Correspondence – None 5. New Business a. Project update- Director Holden stated that retaining walls are going up. Many of the interior walls are being constructed. The completion date is estimated to be May 26, 2023. Hindrin Saeed shared photos of the retaining wall and stair build. He stated that the contractor has started installing piping for the splash pad. The structural steel at the entryway is being installed as are storm drains and conduit. b. C.J. Fucci Invoice- $418,968.65- Director Holden reviewed this invoice and recommends it for approval. Councilman McKeon made a motion to approve the invoice. Councilman Marino seconded the 53,178.06- This invoice is for construction inspection and administration of the project. Councilman Marino made a motion to approve and Councilman McKeon seconded the motion. It passed unanimously. 6. Old Business- None 7. Other- Director Holden shared a budget summary for the project. There is $542,824.61 left in contingency funds. The meeting adjourned at 6:16 PM
