City of Middletown Middletown Veterans’ Park Pool & Splash Pad Building Committee MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, February 8, 2023 Time: 6:00 PM Members Present: Councilman Gene Nocera Councilman Ed McKeon Councilman Mike Marino Councilman Darnell Ford Deborah Petruzzello, Committee Member Anthony Jaskot, Committee Member Staff Present: Christopher M. Holden, P.E., Director of Public Works Cathy Lechowicz, Director of Recreation Others Present: Hindrin Saeed- SLR 1. Chairman opens meeting at 6:00 PM. 2. Minutes – Councilman McKeon made a motion to approve the minutes dated January 11, 2023. Councilman Marino seconded the motion. There was no objection and the motion passed unanimously. 3. Public Comment on Agenda Items- None 4. Correspondence – None 5. New Business a. Project update- Hindrin Saeed showed photos of the project. Director Holden explained that work is still being done on retaining walls. Electrical and plumbing work is being done in the building. A photo was shown of the pools resistance area. It is still expected that around Memorial Day the project will be completed. Director Lechowicz stated there may be changes to staffing at other locations to accommodate for the needs of the new facility. Until they have staff on site they don’t truly know what changes to staffing will be needed. b. C.J. Fucci Invoice- $828,626.74- Director Holden reviewed this invoice and recommends it for approval. He stated this is for site amenities that were completed, work in the pool building, and HVAC work. Councilman McKeon made a motion to approve the invoice. Councilman Marino seconded the motion. It passed unanimously. c. SLR Invoices-$39,732.32. This is for their normal oversight fees for the project. Director Holden reviewed this invoice and recommends it for approval. Councilman Ford made a motion to approve the invoice. Councilman Marino seconded the motion. It passed unanimously. A second invoice of $11,077.50 was reviewed by Director Holden and recommended for approval. This invoice is related to construction management fees due to  changes to the design of the project. Councilman Marino made a motion to approve. Deborah Petruzzello seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. 6. Old Business- None 7. Other- None The meeting adjourned at 6:21 PM
