City of Milton Public Works Committee Minutes 4/8/2015 - Minutes 1. Call to Order Chairperson Ald. Nancy Lader called the April 8, 2015 meeting of the Public Works Committee to order at 6:31 p.m. Present: Chairperson Ald. Nancy Lader, Ald. Dave Adams (via phone), and Ald. Lynda Clark. Also Present: Ald. Don Vruwink, Director of Public Works Howard Robinson, City Administrator Al Hulick, and City Clerk/Deputy Treasurer Elena Hilby. 2. Approval of Minutes 2.a. Public Works Committee Minutes - March 3, 2015 Ald. Clark motioned to approve the minutes. Ald. Adams seconded, and the motion carried. 3. Engineers Report City Engineer Gary Vogel was not present to provide a report. 4. New Business 4.a. Discussion and Possible Action on Approval of a Work Order for Baxter and Woodman for Design Engineering for a South Zone Pressure Booster Station. Director of Public Works Robinson explained that this would allow us to get a design and cost estimates ready when we decide to put out a Request for Bids for the project. Ald. Clark motioned to recommend to the Common Council to allow Baxter and Woodman to proceed with the work order for the South Pressure Booster System. Ald. Adams seconded, and the motion carried. 4.b. Discussion and Possible Action regarding Approval of a Work Order for the Engineering for and Construction for Parkview Drive. Ald. Adams motioned to recommend to the Common Council to approve the work order to allow continuation of the project. Ald. Clark seconded, and the motion carried. 4.c. Discussion and Possible Action regarding Acceptance of a Donation from K-B Sharpening to sharpen mowing blade, chain saw blades, and other items for the Public Works Department for 2015. Ald. Clark motioned to recommend to the Common Council to accept the donation from K and B Sharpening. Ald. Adams seconded, and the motion carried. 4.d. Discussion and Possible Action regarding Approval of Public Works Resolution for Curb and Gutter Assessment for the Parkview Drive project. Ald. Adams motioned to recommend to the Common Council to adopt Resolution #2015-6 allowing a public hearing date for the Parkview Drive Project curb and gutter assessments. Ald. Clark seconded, and the motion carried. 4.e. Discussion and Possible Action to Allow the Public Works Department to Conduct a Scrap Drive. Ald. Adams motioned to recommend to the Common Council to approve to collect scrap items the week of Earth Day thru May 11, 2015. Ald. Clark seconded, and the motion carried. 4.f. Discussion and Possible Action regarding Approval of Sidewalk Bids and Sidewalk Installation and/or Repairs for 2015. Ald. Clark motioned to recommend to the Common Council to award the sidewalk concrete work to Dietz Concrete for 2015. Ald. Adams seconded, and the motion carried. 5. General Items 6. Next Meeting  4.f.
