R_12804 Report from the Secretary-Executive Director Sponsors: THE CHAIR Attachments: 081016_HAL Felon Rule Called Arbitrary Scheme.pdf 081016_HAL Obama Gets Housing Reform Bill 7-22-16.pdf 081016_Thank you letter from Menrose Heard.pdf - Mr. Pérez discussed the following items and made note of particular areas of interest for the board. - An article from the Housing Affairs Letter entitled “Obama Gets Housing Reform Bill” - An article from the Housing Affairs Letter entitled “Felon Rule Called Arbitrary Scheme” - A scholarship thank you letter from Menrose Heard, a Hillside Terrace resident - A Choice Neighborhood Planning Session was held on Tuesday, August 16th from 6:00 – 8:00PM at McGovern Park Senior Center for all stakeholders in the Westlawn area - The City Milwaukee Health Department and the Housing Authority are co-sponsoring a Back-To-School Health Clinic that will provide school supplies and free immunizations on Monday, August 29th from 12pm-3pm at Westlawn Gardens East Community Room, 5560 North 62nd Street - The Havenwoods Summer Concert Series, Rhythm & Blooms on Thursdays, 6:00pm – 8:00pm will be held at Green Tree Garden at the Havenwoods State Forest located 6141 N. Hopkins Street, Milwaukee, WI 53209. - HACM’s Contractor Fair to be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, 9:00AM – 3:00PM at Manpower Group, 100 Manpower Place, Milwaukee, WI 53212 - Mr. Pérez reported that there will be a Special Meeting of the Housing Authority Board on August 31, 2016 at 10:00am. Adjournment There being no further business, Commissioner Van Alstine made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 2:32pm. Commissioner Diaz seconded the motion.
