2. Review and Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes
Ald. Kovac moved approval of the minutes. There were no objections.
3. Public Art Subcommittee Report
Ms. Morris stated the New Work Fund applications were reviewed and some
applicants will come to the next meeting to present on their projects. There were 11
applications and funding recommendations will be presented at the next meeting.
4. Project Grants Report
Ms. Witte stated 41 eligible applications were received. There wil be a grant panel
review session on May 4th. She stated there is $48,600 carryover from previous
years. There is a total of $271,660 available for funding projects.
5. Vote for 2017 Artists of the Year
Sheri Williams Pannell and Chris & Jane Flieller were nominated for 2017 Artists of
the Year. Ms. Harpole nominated Ms. Pannell and Mr. Flores nominated Chris & Jane
Flieller. The vote was unanimous and the nominees won.
6. Vote for 2017 Friends of the Arts

Sande Robinson and Jan Serr & John Shannon were nominated for 2017 Friends of
the Arts. Ms. McSweeney has nominated all nominees. There was a unanimous vote
and all nominees won.
7. Announcements
Mr. Flores stated a nearby church has offered space after the UWM Peck School fire.
Ms. Layden stated Marquette has also offered space for those displaced by the fire.
Mr. DeLind stated the Milwaukee County Zoo will be hosting Beastie Beats for the
Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in summer 2018. Ms. Klose stated it is National Fair
Housing Month and there is an exhibit at Milwaukee County Historical Society
regarding the Fair Housing Marches of 1967-68. Ms. Kingsbury stated there is a
LGBTQ queerzine exhibit at Woodland Pattern. She stated Jeff Moran will also be
having a show at Woodland Pattern. Both exhibits were funded by the Arts Board.

meeting, this meeting may also simultaneously constitute a meeting of the Common Council or any of
the following committees: Community and Economic Development, Finance and Personnel, Judiciary
and Legislation, Licenses, Public Safety, Public Works, Zoning, Neighborhoods & Development,
and/or Steering and Rules. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the
presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council
or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any agenda

Limited parking for persons attending meetings in City Hall is available at reduced rates (5 hour limit)
at the Milwaukee Center on the southwest corner of East Kilbourn and North Water Street. Parking
tickets must be validated in the first floor Information Booth in City Hall.
Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances are
required to register with the City Clerk's Office License Division. Registered lobbyists appearing
before a Common Council committee are required to identify themselves as such. More information is
