Roll Call The meeting convened at 3:04 PM Indivdual also present: Sally Witte, Department of City Development Present 5 - McSweeney, Morris, Murphy, Klose and Layden 2. Review and Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes Ms. Layden moved approval of the previous meeting minutes, seconded by Mr. Murphy. There were no objections. 3. New Work Fund - Review Applications The Subcommittee reviewed applications from the following organizations: Garden District, for a mural by Chaco Lopez on the railroad underpass Milwaukee Downtown BID, for 10 utility box murals CUPED for the Historic Garfield Campus Mural Project at the old Garfield School Layton Blvd West Neighbors for the Silver City placemaking project GMC for the Beerline Trail neighborhoodcentric park ReciproCITY/Fondy Food Center MLK Economic Development Corp. for the Welford Sanders statue 5 Points Neighborhood Association for the Heritage of Art park using items from the Artery Harbor District for the Take Me to the River Fish Wall Jazale's Art Studio for Splash community events to create murals Khristitecture for Enlighten Our Way community park - Updates on Projects 4. Conservation Fund - Updates on Applications: - Bells of Milwaukee, Inc, Michael Horne gave a presentation on the Bells of Milwaukee. He stated the purpose of Bells of Milwaukee, Inc is to provide community members assistance and the ability to fix their broken bells. He stated he plans to fix the bells on a property that is soon be developed and is owned by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee. He added that he has spoken with the Mayor's Office, DPW, DCD, and RACM. Announcements In the event that Common Council members who are not members of this committee attend this meeting, this meeting may also simultaneously constitute a meeting of the Common Council or any of the following committees: Community and Economic Development, Finance and Personnel, Judiciary and Legislation, Licenses, Public Safety, Public Works, Zoning, Neighborhoods & Development, and/or Steering and Rules. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of authority. In the event that a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action other than information gathering will be taken at the simultaneous meeting. Parking tickets must be validated in the first floor Information Booth in City Hall. Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances are required to register with the City Clerk's Office License Division. Registered lobbyists appearing before a Common Council committee are required to identify themselves as such. More information is available at http://city.milwaukee.gov/Lobbying.
