2. Review and Approval of Previous Minutes
The last meeting was cancelled due to lack of quorum.
3. Presentations
- Amy Turim (DCD) - City's ARCH Program
Ald. Coggs stated that the program was developed to convert foreclosed homes into
positive influences for the neighborhood.
- Sara Daleiden (MKE-LAX) - HomeWorks Project (also present: Mikal Floyd Pruitt and
Vedale Hill) stated that each artist will purchase a separate property. The goal is to
complete 4 properties and become neighborhood leaders for a greater project.
4. Public Art Subcommittee Report
-Recommendations for Conservation Fund Projects
- $5,000 for the restoration of the Milwaukee Area Labor Council monument in Zeidler
Park
Ms. Morris moved approval, seconded by Ms. Balistreri. There were no objections.
- $5,000 to the Westtown Association for the Spanish American War Hero contingent

on submission of the final report for the George Washington monument.
Ms. Morris moved approval, seconded by Ms. Layden. There were no objections.
- Ms. Witte stated that there were funds available in the Project Grant Fund. Ms.
Morris stated that the Subcommittee is seeking ideas on qualifying projects and thinks
that supporting the 200 Nights of Freedom project will be a good use of funding. The
Committee would like to extend an invitation to the organization to present information
about the project.
Ms. Morris moved approval, seconded by Ms. Harpole. There were no objections.
5. Project Grants Update
Ms. Witte stated that the Grant Eligibility Task Force met to work on improving the
evaluation forms.

7. Announcements
- Mr. Hill announced that on October 10th, Jazale's Studio is hosting an Invite
Luncheon - moving to a new location and raising funds to rehab the property.
- Ms. Morris is holding the last application workshop for the Nohl Fund at 6PM in the
Grand Avenue Mall, applications are due Oct. 5th
- Mr. Delind announced that the Milwaukee County Zoo is having a fundraiser to
support "Beastie Safari" project where artists are asked to create a design(s) and
submit by October 30th. The sponsor will choose and the artist will get paid and
design the "Beastie Safari".
- Ms. Morris announced a Milwaukee Arts Board Public Art listening session on
October 26th at the Haggerty Museum

In the event that Common Council members who are not members of this committee attend this meeting, this
meeting may also simultaneously constitute a meeting of the Common Council or any of the following
committees: Community and Economic Development, Finance and Personnel, Judiciary and Legislation,
Licenses, Public Safety, Public Works, Zoning, Neighborhoods & Development, and/or Steering and Rules.
Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the presence of one or more of the Common
Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a
quorum of another committee, whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s
realm of authority. In the event that a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action other than information
gathering will be taken at the simultaneous meeting.
Upon reasonable notice, efforts will be made to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities through

Limited parking for persons attending meetings in City Hall is available at reduced rates (5 hour limit) at the
Milwaukee Center on the southwest corner of East Kilbourn and North Water Street. Parking tickets must be
validated in the first floor Information Booth in City Hall.
Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances are required to
register with the City Clerk's Office License Division. Registered lobbyists appearing before a Common
Council committee are required to identify themselves as such. More information is available at
