Library Board Meeting

Mineral Point Library Board of Trustees Meeting Monday, February 2nd, 2026 In Attendance: M Uppena, S Schroeder, K Bonnett, C Underwood, L Schaaf, E Rolli. Absent: J Roberts, M Ryberg Guests: Matthew Payne 1. Meeting Called to Order- Meeting called to order by C Underwood at 5:34. 2. Meeting Duly Posted- Diane confirmed the meeting was duly posted. 3. Approval of the Agenda- As presented at the meeting; S Schroeder moved to approve the agenda; M Uppena seconded. Motion passed. 4. Approval of the Minutes of the Previous Meeting- L Schaaf moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting; E Rolli seconded. Motion passed. 5. Persons Desiring to be Heard- None in attendance. 6. Directors Communications- Diane received communication from a patron thanking her for the excellent service provided by library staff. 7. 2025 Annual Report- The number of checked out books and magazines increased from last year (2024). The library held 177 onsite programs, also an increase from last year. Library visits decreased in 2025, while website visits increased significantly. 8. Financial Report- Diane provided the board with updated financial information. K Bonnett moved to accept the financial report as presented; M Uppena seconded. Motion passed. 9. Library Mission Statement & Branding survey- Surveys were sent out to board members to gather input on these areas. These topics will be discussed further in future meetings. 10. Public Records Policy- The board was presented with a Public Records Request Policy to review. L Schaaf moved to accept and post this policy as presented; E Rolli seconded. Motion passed. 11. Preliminary handbook for the City of Mineral Point- The library has the option to adopt the City handbook. The board will review the preliminary handbook and contact Diane with modifications/additions in order for her to communicate this with the city. 12. Board Member Changes 2026- The board will have one available member position in the upcoming months. 13. Library Operations update– Book club books are chosen for the next round. This week marks the first children’s program of the new year. New Senior Planet classes are being offered. A puzzle swap and jigsaw puzzle contest will be held this month. 14.Set the Next Meeting date- The next meeting of the Mineral Point Library Board of Trustees is Monday, March 2nd. 15. Adjourn meeting- S Schroeder moved; M Uppena seconded. The meeting adjourned at 6:27pm.
