MINUTES CITY OF MINERAL POINT POLICE & LICENSING COMMITTEE MEETING Monday, February 16, 2026, 5:30 P.M. City Hall Community Room CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL Meeting called to order by Chair Graber at 5:30 PM. Brian Graber, Chair Present Keith Burrows Present Steph McKeon Present Others Present: Administrator Honer, Clerk-Treasurer Christy Skelding, Police Chief Bob Weier APPROVAL OF MINUTES – DECEMBER 1, 2025 MEETING Motion (McKeon/Burrows) to approve the minutes. Motion carried, all voting aye (3-0). PRESENTATION OF TRAFFIC STOP AND CITATION REPORT (OCT – DEC 2025) Chief Weier presented on the Traffic Stop and Citation Report from October to December of 2025. The department had 106 traffic stops from October – January, with 25 citations and 5 warnings issued. Ridge/Dodge Streets have the highest number of citations issued due to the amount of traffic. PRESENTATION OF DEPARTMENT REPORT AND 2025 CALLS FOR SERVICE REPORT Chief Weier presented the Department Report and 2025 Calls for Service Report. Chief Weier doesn’t notice a trend in calls for anything overly concerning. Hard drug use seems to have decreased over the past couple of years as overdose calls are less. Beginning this year, they started the “YES” (Youth Emergency Services) program. This program works to try to get High School students interested in the field. The City has hired 3 part-time officers over the last six months. Electric bike safety has been brought up to the department in the past. Chief Weier is hoping to provide safety information on e-bikes to students at the school. Over the next few years there will likely be a few retirements from the Police Department. The department is working on a succession plan for these potential retirements. The committee discussed holding these meetings on a quarterly basis. The next meeting will be held likely in early June. ADJOURNMENT Motion (McKeon/Burrows) to adjourn at 6:17 PM.
