MINUTES CITY OF MINERAL POINT PUBLIC HEALTH AND PROPERTY COMMITTEE MEETING Friday, March 7, 2025 – 12:00 PM City Hall Community Room and Virtually. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL The meeting was called to order by Administrator Honer 12:00 PM. Gary Galle Excused Dean Martin Present Chuck Allendorf Present Others Present: Administrator Honer, Clerk-Treasurer Skelding, Jim Nadig, Lisa Hay APPROVAL OF MINUTES – FEBRUARY 14, 2025 MEETING Motion (Allendorf/Martin) to approve the minutes. Motion carried, all voting aye (2-0). DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE CONSIDERATION OF DRAFT MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN STOCKTON HARDWARE, INC. AND THE CITY OF MINERAL POINT, IOWA COUNTY, WISCONSIN. Motion (Martin/Allendorf) to recommend City Council approval of the draft Memorandum of Understanding between Stockton Hardware, Inc. and the City of Mineral Point, Iowa County, Wisconsin. DISCUSSION OF POSSIBLE CONSIDERATION OF THE PROCESS TO SELL CITY-OWNED REAL ESTATE. Administrator Honer proposed to publish an RFP as early as March 14, 2025. The RFP will accept proposals from those with interest. It will be open for 30 days. Proposals will come to the Public Health and Property Committee meeting prior to Council. Alder Allendorf would like to see a timeline set for building on these lots, with a proposed $5,500 penalty if a house is not built after 12 months of purchase. This would be a revolving $5,500 each year if no building is on the lot. The committee would like to see a minimum bid of $28,000. The committee advised Administrator Honer to move forward with publishing the RFP, no need for Council approval. ADJOURNMENT Motion (Martin/Allendorf) to adjourn the meeting at 12:16 PM.
