To the Honorable Mayor and All Aldermen: Following are the minutes of the Liquor/Gambling Control Committee meeting called to order at 5:05 p.m. on January 8, 2014: 1. The City Council approve the request by Viraj Thedsomboon for a Specialty Restaurant Beer and Wine license, dba the Little Blue Elephant (22 South Main Street), effective January 14, 2014, subject to receipt of all documentation and approval by the Police Chief and Building Official. ********** The above motion by Alderman Withus, seconded by Alderman M. Miller, and carried unanimously. 2. The City Council ratify the following administratively approved requests: a. Sevens Bar & Restaurant for a special event permit on December 12, 2013 at NW Tire (1500 20th Ave SE). b. Minot Park District for a local permit to conduct raffle on March 1, 2014 at Maysa Arena (2501 W Burdick Expy). c. Perkett Elementary PTA for a local permit to conduct raffle on February 7, 2014 at Perkett Elementary School (2000 5th Ave SW). d. MSU Native American Cultural Awareness Club for a local permit to conduct raffle on April 26, 2014 at MSU Dome (500 University Ave W). e. Sweet & Flour Patisserie for a special event permit on December 9, 2013 at Hess Corp. Headquarters (3015 16th St SW). f. Knights of Columbus #9839 for a local permit to conduct raffle on February 9, 2014 at Little Flower Church (800 University Ave W). g. Grand Hotel for a special event permit on December 18, 2013 at MSU Student Center (500 University Ave W). i. McKinley Elementary PTA for a local permit to conduct raffle on February 7, 2014 at McKinley Elementary School (5 5th Avenue NE). j. Buy the Floor Committee for a local permit to conduct raffle on December 21, 2013 at MSU’s Ann Nicole Hall (500 University Ave W). k. Lewis & Clark Elementary PTA for a local permit to conduct raffle on January 31, 2014 at Lewis & Clark Elementary School (2215 8th Street NE). l. Souris River Basin Longbeards for a local permit to conduct raffle on February 8, 2014 at the Grand Hotel-Grand Ballroom (1505 N Broadway). ********** The above motion by Alderman Withus, seconded by Alderman M. Miller, and carried unanimously. 3. The City Council approve an amendment to Chapter 5 (Alcoholic Beverages) Article I (In General), Section 5-1 of the Code of Ordinances Relating to Alcoholic Beverages, to revise the definition of a Supper Club License, to include a provision eliminating seating requirements for restaurants in Minot’s Renaissance District. ********** The above motion by Alderman Withus, seconded by Alderman M. Miller. Alderman Krabseth commented that a Supper Club License request from Souris River Brewing would need to be reviewed after the revised ordinance was in place. Whereupon a vote was taken on the above motion by Alderman Withus, seconded by M. Miller and carried unanimously.
