The City Council approve the request Lone Ranger, LLC, dba Dakota Dave’s Steakhouse and Saloon (515 20th Ave SE Suite 9) for a Supper Club License, effective December 1, 2014, subject to receipt of all documentation and approval by the Police Chief and Building Official. ********** The above motion by Alderman Hatlelid, seconded by Alderman Berg and carried unanimously. Jeff Merck, business owner of Bootleggerz, asked for the conditions of the Supper Club license to be reviewed. The City Attorney stated according to the City of Minot Code of Ordinances, the conditions of the Supper Club license does not prohibit dance floors in a Supper Club licensed facility. She stated it does require mandatory seating of over 150 people, and must operate primarily as a restaurant. Mr. Merck stated he feels the liquor code needs to be revised, as dancing should be not allowed in a Supper Club licensed setting. He said this would be too closely related to what is allowed in a bar establishment such as Bootleggerz. Alderman Connole stated he does believe the code has a very broad set of licenses that should be reviewed. Whereupon a vote was taken on the above motion by Alderman Hatlelid, seconded by Alederman Berg and was carried by the following roll call vote: ayes: Berg, Connole, Hatlelid, Seymour, Shomento. nays: none. 2. The City Council ratify the following administratively approved requests: a. Souris Valley Animal Shelter for a local permit to conduct raffle on September 26, 2014 at the Vegas Motel (2315 N Broadway). b. Minot Area Homeless Coalition for a local permit to conduct raffle on November 6, 2014 at The Grand Hotel (1505 N Broadway). c. Edison Elementary PTA for a local permit to conduct raffle from October 1, 2014 to April 17, 2015 at Edison Elementary School (701 17th Avenue SW). d. Minot Minotauros Hockey for a local permit to conduct raffle on September 26, 2014 at Maysa Arena (2501 Burdick Expy W). e. Minot Prairie Quilters for a local permit to conduct raffle on March 20, 2015 at Grand Hotel (1505 N Broadway) and December 3, 2015 at Vincent Methodist Church (1024 2nd Street SE). f. Nodak Race Club for a local permit to conduct raffle from November 1, 2014 to November 2, 2014 at Sleep Inn & Suites (2400 10th Street SW). LIQUOR AND GAMBLING CONTROL COMMITTEE October 29, 2014 Page 2 g. Sports on Tap for a special event permit on October 31, 2014 at Sports on Tap/Planet Pizza common room (220 South Broadway). h. Sports on Tap for a special event permit on November 1, 2014 at Sports on Tap/Planet Pizza common room (220 South Broadway). i. Fundraising Committee of Community Leadership Institute for a local permit to conduct raffle on October 25, 2014 at Maysa Arena (2501 Burdick Expy W). ********** The above motion by Alderman Hatlelid, seconded by Alderman Connole and carried unanimously.
