#2 David & Kristi LaMothe 6625 Wenonga Road
The LaMothes are proposing a new patio, screened porch, pergola, outdoor kitchen, water
feature, and decorative walls at the east corner of their property.
Summary of Property:
• Character Area: Neighborhood Estates
• Location of Common Green Space: Front
• Any Special Frontages: None
Summary of Project:
The proposed screened porch is located at the rear of the house, adjacent to an existing rear
wing. The hipped roof structure will tie back to the existing roof. A portion of the side will bump
out to accommodate a fireplace that does not require a chimney.
Behind the porch and closer to the property line is where the new pergola is proposed. The
pergola stands 8’-6” to the bottom of the top slats. The eastern posts sit on a new 2-foot-tall
brick wall that extends from the corner of the house to the back of the existing carriage house.
The rearmost corner of the wall will house the proposed water feature. The water feature will be
a wall mounted water supply and low basin.
The outdoor kitchen is incorporated into the wall where it connects to the existing house. The
kitchen consists of a small counter and a built-in grill. The existing roof overhang will be
extended out 2 feet in this area.
The proposed patio is the area enclosed within the new wall from the carriage house to the main
house. Portions of the patio are to be stamped concrete and other areas are to be pavers. A
freeform step marks the transition between the stamped concrete and paver areas.
Ordinance Compliance:
There are no conflicts between the proposed project and the City of Mission Hills Code of
Ordinances.
Design Guideline Review:
There are no other conflicts between the proposed project and the City of Mission Hills Design
Guidelines.
