CONSENT ITEMS Approval of Minutes No comments. 2. September 18, 2024 (Not a project under CEQA per Article 20 Section 15378 and under General Rule Article 5 Section 15061) Action: Approved as submitted. Staff Presentation/Committee Member Questions Principal Planner Sabdo presented the Agenda Report. Applicant Applicant John Moore commended described the project and stated the intention of the addition was to increase the space while maintaining the neighboring Public Comments None. Committee Member Comments The Committee noted the changes from wood to metal for longevity and described the additions as reasonable and understandable. Staff Presentation/Committee Member Questions Principal Planner Roveri presented the Agenda Report and addressed Committee on the previous Planning Commission review, staff conditions, tree replacement, and project staging. Planning Manager Hill also assisted with answering the Committee question regarding discretionary review. Applicant Applicant and architect, Bill Mefford, explained that the proposed raising of the garage and increased depth are intended to improve accessibility and functionality. Mefford also noted that the design is consistent with the existing look of the house, and that the homeowners are open to adjusting the roof style to a gabled roof. Mefford confirmed that the garage roof is about two feet lower. Public Comments None. Committee Member Comments The Committee appreciated that the homeowners were willing to compromise on the roof line. PUBLIC COMMENT PROCEDURES AND TIME LIMITS: The total amount of time allocated for public comment on a particular issue and for each individual speaker is generally as follows: 1. Up to three minutes per speaker. 2. For regular Architectural Review Committee meetings, there is one 15-minute public comment period for items not on the agenda. 3. The total time allocated for public comment: a. Items pulled from the consent agenda – 15 minutes each item b. Public Appearance items – 30 minutes each item c. Public Hearing items – 30 minutes each item At the time an item is considered, the Chair will ask those attending the meeting in person to line up at the podium or raise their hands, and for remote participants to use *9 on the telephone or the “raise hand” function in Zoom, if they wish to address the Architectural Review Committee.
