Recognize Youth Services Manager Karen Brown for 20 Years of Service to the Monterey Public Library and the City of Monterey CONSENT ITEMS CONSENT ITEMS allow for a review of those items recommended for approval on consent or recommended to be continued, tabled or withdrawn, etc. Consent items consist of those items which are routine and for which a staff recommendation has been prepared. A member of the public or a Trustee may request that an item recommended for approval on consent be heard on the regular agenda for further discussion. Approval of Minutes 2. January 26, 2011 3. The appropriate staff person will contact the sender concerning the details. PUBLIC APPEARANCE PUBLIC APPEARANCE items are reports on action or informational issues that might stimulate public discussion, but that do not require formal noticing as public hearings. You are welcome to offer your comments after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair may limit the time allocated to each speaker. New Business 4. Receive Report on Priority-based Budgeting and Direct Staff on Preparation for Development of Fiscal Year 2011-12 Budget 5. Approve Staff Survey for Six-Month Review of Shared Library Director Position and Library Management Reorganization 6. Direct staff on Televising Library Board Meetings on Access Monterey Peninsula (AMP) Channel 25 Old Business 7. Library Fund Development Report TRUSTEE COMMENTS Trustees may ask a question for clarification, make a brief announcement or make a brief report on his or her activities. In addition, a the Board may provide a referral to staff or other resources for factual information, request staff to report back to the body at a subsequent meeting concerning any Library matter, or direct staff to place a request to agendize a matter of business on a future agenda. (G.C. 54954.2) INFORMATIONAL REPORTS & STAFF COMMENTS INFORMATIONAL REPORTS & STAFF COMMENTS is used by the Library Director to make a brief report on her activities or a brief announcement. The Director may also ask for clarification or direction regarding scheduling of Board meetings and study sessions. ADJOURNMENT “The Board of Monterey Public Library Trustees provides stewardship for Monterey Public Library assets and services on behalf of all residents, ensures adaptability to a diverse population, changing environment and advancing technology. Trustees advise the City Council on matters pertaining to the Library, and advocate on the Library’s behalf, while ensuring an ongoing flow of information between the Library, the community and the City Council, in accordance with Section 7.1 of the Monterey City Charter and in support of the mission statement of the Monterey Public Library.” -adopted by Library Board of Trustees, April 25, 2007 The Library Board of Trustees meeting packet may be reviewed by the public in the Library. Information distributed to the Library Board at the Board meeting becomes part of the public record. A copy of written material, pictures, etc. should be provided for this purpose. The City of Monterey is committed to include the disabled in all of its services, programs and activities.
