This meeting was held with a combination of in-person and teleconference attendance, pursuant
to the Ralph M. Brown Act, Calif. Government Code section 54953(e)(1)(C) and Resolution No.
22-143 C.S.

Chair Fellguth called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m.

Action: Received and discussed
Library & Museums Director Edwards reviewed the proposed changes to Board Policy 105:
Use of Library Meeting Rooms. Library Trustees asked questions, discussed the proposed
revisions, and made recommendations.
4. Receive Report on Library Operations Survey (Not a Project under CEQA per Article 20,
Section 15378 and under General Rule Article 5, Section 15061)
Action: Received and discussed
Edwards reviewed the Library Operations Survey. The need for additional teen responses was
highlighted.

5. Receive Library and Museums Director Activity Report (Not a Project under CEQA per Article

Action: Received and discussed
Edwards reviewed his activity report. Trustees asked questions, made comments, and gave
accolades for his work.

Action: Received and discussed
Edwards reviewed the statistical report.

TRUSTEE COMMENTS
Library Trustee Moroh attended the MPL Friends & Foundation quarterly Board meeting with
Trustee Silveria. Preparations are underway for the Chocolate & Wine Benefit. Library Trustee
Silveria will be the MPLFF Board liaison.
Library Trustee Petty commented that all seems to be progressing onward and upward in the
right direction; it is an encouraging way to start the year.
Library Trustee Joshi commented that it is exciting to return in person for the annual Chocolate
& Wine Benefit. He will be managing the chocolate fountain.
Library Trustee Fellguth was contacted by a Casanova Oak Knolls community member who
expressed interest in having the Bookmobile return service to their neighborhood.

clarification or direction regarding scheduling of Board meetings and study sessions.

ADJOURNMENT
“The Board of Monterey Public Library Trustees provides stewardship for Monterey Public Library
assets and services on behalf of all residents, ensures adaptability to a diverse population, changing
environment and advancing technology. Trustees advise the City Council on matters pertaining to the
Library, and advocate on the Library’s behalf, while ensuring an ongoing flow of information between
the Library, the community and the City Council, in accordance with Section 7.1 of the Monterey City
Charter and in support of the mission statement of the Monterey Public Library.”
