MINUTES CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING CITY OF MONTEREY Wednesday, August 24, 2016 5:00 p.m. FEW MEMORIAL HALL OF RECORDS, CITY HALL MONTEREY, CA MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA Councilmembers Present: Councilmembers Barrett, Downey, Haffa, Smith, Roberson Absent: None City Staff City Manager, City Attorney, Director of Information Resources/City Clerk, Present: Assistant City Manager, Deputy City Manager, Plans and Public Works, Community Services Director, Finance Director, Human Resources Director, Housing & Property Manager CALL TO ORDER Mayor Roberson called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. PUBLIC APPEARANCE 1. Adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration and Adopt the Parks and Recreation Master Plan -- Recommended for Tabling (Plans & Public Works - 201-12) Action: Tabled ***Adjourn to Closed Session*** ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM CLOSED SESSION Information Resources Director/City Clerk Gawf announced the following: On two unanimous roll call votes, the City Council gave confidential direction in a conference with their labor negotiator, Gina Donnelly, regarding employee organizations: General Employees of Monterey (GEM), Management Employees’ Association (MEA), Monterey Fire Fighters Association (MFFA), Monterey Fire Chief Officers Association (MFCOA), Monterey Police Association (MPA). On a roll call vote, the City Council gave confidential direction in a conference to their real property negotiators, John Mahoney, Dino Pick, Kimberly Cole and Janna Aldrete, regarding property at 256 Figueroa Street; negotiating parties: Surfside Enterprises, Inc.; under negotiation were the terms and conditions for a lease extension. The vote was 3-2 with Barrett and Downey voting no. On a roll call vote, the City Council gave confidential direction in a conference to their real property negotiators, John Mahoney, Dino Pick, Kimberly Cole and Janna Aldrete, regarding property at 6 Fisherman's Wharf, Suite C; negotiating parties: Paluca Trattoria (Sal Tedesco); under negotiation were the terms and conditions for a new lease. The vote was 4-0-1, with Barrett abstaining. On a roll call vote, the City Council gave confidential direction in a conference to their real property negotiators, John Mahoney, Dino Pick, Kimberly Cole and Janna Aldrete, regarding property at 6 Fisherman's Wharf, Suite B; negotiating parties: Ben Balester; under negotiation City Council Minutes Wednesday, August 24, 2016 were the terms and conditions for a new lease (4-0-1; Barrett abstaining) The City Council received a report in a conference to their real property negotiators, John Mahoney, Dino Pick, Kimberly Cole and Janna Aldrete, regarding property at 84 Fisherman's Wharf; 6 Fisherman's Wharf, Suite C; negotiating parties:: Sam's Fishing Fleet (Chris Arcoleo and Anthony Lombardo); under negotiation were the terms and conditions for a new lease ADJOURNMENT Mayor Roberson adjourned the meeting at 7:01 p.m. Respectfully Submitted, Approved, Bonnie L.
