CITY COUNCIL FIELD TRIP
CITY OF MONTEREY

CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Roberson called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. The Council and staff gathered by the
lawn at 546 Dutra Street and departed in numerous vehicles.
FIELD TRIP
1. 878 Oak Street, Monterey (approximately 4:15 p.m.) (Plans & Public Works - 203-02)
The Council and staff arrived at 878 Oak Street at 4:12 p.m. Associate Planner Schmidt gave a
brief presentation, providing a background of the appeal, displaying project plans, and
answering Councilmembers' questions. The group headed inside to view the home. Owner
Tindall offered Council and staff the opportunity to examine a three-dimensional model of his
proposed remodel.
2. 880 Newton Street, Monterey (approximately 4:30 p.m.) (Plans & Public Works - 203-02)
The Council and staff arrived at 880 Newton Street at 4:40 p.m. The group headed inside to
view the home. Attorney to Appellant Williams, Christine Kemp, presented the view and
answered Councilmembers' questions. Community Development Director Cole described the
process of Architectural Review Committee and Planning Commission reviews of the project
and answered Councilmembers' questions.
ADJOURNMENT
The City Council adjourned at 4:51 p.m.

CALL TO ORDER
FIELD TRIP
The City Council will conduct a field trip to review the following locations, which will be considered
on the July 17, 2018 City Council agenda under the title:
Deny 878 Oak Street; Application AP-18-0210 Appealing Planning Commission Decision
to Deny AP-18-0160 and AP-18-0161 Appealing Architectural Review Committee
Decision to Approve Architectural Review Permit ARP-18-0083 for a Second Story
Addition and Home Remodel; Appellant J.R. Williams; Owner/Applicant Jeff Tindall; R-1-5
Zoning district; Exempt from CEQA per Article 19, Section 15301, Class 1 (Plans & Public
Works - 701-13 PLN)
The field trip will depart from the lawn behind Colton Hall, at 546 Dutra Street, at 4:00 p.m. No

during normal business hours
Information distributed to the Council at the Council meeting becomes part of the public record. A copy of
written material, pictures, etc. should be provided for this purpose.
