2. Museum and Cultural Arts Division Activity Report - February 1-28, 2011
Additional information for the March 8 "Trusting Lucy" evening concert at Colton Hall was
provided to the Commission. Attendance: 137; Monetary contributions: $567.62.

3. Report on Presidio Museum Directional Signage
Wojtkowski asked that a status report on the signage be placed on the May 2011

CHMCAC agenda. Commissioners thanked staff for actions on the proposed Presidio
Museum signage.
4. Report on Subcommittee Review of 2010 Strategic Plan Goals
Commissioner Dias reported that the subcommittee reviewed the five goals and what is
within the purview of the Commission. Many of the objectives are linked to maintain the
viability of the cultural arts programs. Commissioner Wojtkowski suggested prioritizing
goals should be placed on the April agenda. Commissioner Chair Rodriguez suggested
that the fundraising subcommittee could work on the goal to achieve $40K for cultural
arts. Rodriguez also addressed the issue of having a younger, non-voting member on the
Commission.
New Business
5. Report on Fiscal Year 2011/2012 Budget Process
Commissioner Chair Rodriguez suggested that Commission members attend the City
Council meeting on April 19th. Staff will notify Commissioners on the time of the meeting.
6. Report on the Pacific Biological Laboratories Exterior Interpretative Plan Grant
Commissioner Wojtkowski mentioned that the general manager, John Turner, of the
Intercontinental Clement is very interested in the history of the Pacific Biological
Laboratories (PBL). He suggested that the model of the PBL by artist Bill Johnk could be
displayed at the hotel. Commissioner Chair Rodriguez suggested the possibility of
a donation box at the hotel and advertize the story of the PBL and its association with the
Jazz Festival. Wojtkowski would like to meet with Turner and Copeland to discuss PBL.

Schneider - will bring fundraising summary for April 2011.
Rodriguez - April 4, meeting on CSUMB Summer Arts Program; April 6, Reinecke
Ensemble Evening Music Concert at Colton Hall; April 15, Alvarado Gallery Opening.
Staff can send out help sign-up sheet to Commissioners; April 16, Library and Museum
and Cultural Arts Volunteers Recognition;
Agenda Items for April meeting will be the Evening Concert Series and Strategic
Planning.
Han - April 30, Asian Arts Festival.
