CALL TO ORDER
Kimberly Cole, serving as Zoning Administrator, called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.

PUBLIC HEARING
1. Approve 2080 Prescott Avenue; Variance Application VA-20-0024 to Allow Installation of
Six-Foot Fence and Gate in Front Yard, Exceeding Four-Foot Height Limit;
Applicant/Owner Tamas Marius; R-1-5 Zoning Designation; Low Density Residential
General Plan Designation; Exempt from CEQA Requirements per Article 19, Section
15301, Class 1
ACTION: Adopted a resolution approving Variance Application VA 20-0024 to Allow
Installation of Six-Foot Fence Gate and Fence in the Front Yard, Exceeding the
Four-Foot Height Limit.
Fernanda Roveri, Senior Associate Planner, presented the project. The property owner (Tamas
Marius) and a neighboring residential property owner (Nancy Larkin) were present and
expressed support for the project. Mr. Marius discussed the traffic and visibility of the public
into their home due to the grade difference between the street and residence. Ms. Larkin
described that she understood the traffic issues and vulnerability. She supported the
application.

There being no further business Zoning Administrator Cole adjourned the meeting at 4:30 p.m.

PUBLIC COMMENTS
PUBLIC COMMENTS. At this time, the public may speak for a maximum of three minutes
on any subject which is within the jurisdiction of the Monterey Zoning Administrator and
which is not on the agenda. Any person or group desiring to bring an item to the attention
of the Zoning Administrator may do so during Public Comments or by addressing a letter
of explanation to the Zoning Administrator, City Hall, Monterey, CA 93940.
PUBLIC HEARING
PUBLIC HEARINGS are required by law for certain actions. You are welcome to offer
your comments after being recognized by the Zoning Administrator. The Zoning
Administrator may limit the time allocated to each speaker. Project representation is
encouraged.

ADJOURNMENT
ADJOURNMENT— The general policy of the Zoning Administrator is that the meeting will end no
later than 6:30 p.m. Any public agenda items that have not been completed within the designated
adjournment time may be formally extended by the Administrator, or continued to the next
regularly scheduled Zoning Administrator Meeting, or continued to a Special Meeting.
The Zoning Administrator agenda may be reviewed by the public in the Monterey Public Library, in
the Planning, Engineering, and Environmental Compliance Division (PEEC), or on the web at
www.monterey.org beginning late Friday afternoon prior to the date of the meeting.
Members of the public have the right to address the Zoning Administrator on any item on the
Agenda. The Zoning Administrator will formally open the floor for public comment on items listed
under “Public Hearings.”
Information distributed to the Zoning Administrator at the meeting becomes part of the public
record. A copy of written material, pictures, etc. should be provided to the Administrator for this
purpose.
Zoning Administrator decisions may be appealed within ten (10) days from the date of the decision
on forms available in the Planning Division during business hours. When the tenth day falls on a
weekend or a holiday, the appeal deadline date is the next working day following the holiday or
