ADA Committee

Montpelier ADA Committee July 1, 2014 DRAFT: Subject to review and approval Attendance: Kim Brittenham, Tom McArdle, Chris Lumbra, Jessie Baker, Kevin Casey, Dianne Richardson. Guests: Tyler Sweetin from VCIL, Zach Blodgett, Corrinna Jordan. Introductions and Welcome Meeting called to order by Kim Brittenham, Chair. Updates from Committee Members Kim went to the ADA Symposium and brought back things to share. Zach also went on behalf of the City’s DPW. Dianne rewrote the priorities and presented it to the committee for input. Jessie said they can be scanned and sent around to others since Dianne doesn’t have a computer. They will be reviewed in September after people have time to review. A discussion will happen on whether the Chair for this Committee shoud be a municipal employee or someone from the community. Kim had checked with Sandy and an ad for new members hadn’t been done in awhile. Something will need to be drafted since Sandy doesn’t have the one that was posted last. Jessie will put together a draft for the ad. Thom wasn’t present to give an update on the schools section. Jessie reported that there was a meeting with city staff and resources in the area on how to best address mental health issues in the city. It was a very preliminary discussion and to build connections between providers. Review and Approve Meeting Minutes from June 3, 2014 Dianne moved to approve the minutes with the changes of her name spelled with two “n”s and the garage name changed to Garage. Tom seconded. The minutes were approved with changes. Confirm Next Meeting Date – There is no meeting next month. The next meeting will be September 2. Respectfully submitted, Tami Furry Recording Secretary
