ADA Committee

Montpelier ADA Committee April 7, 2015 Subject to review and approval Attendance: Kim Brittenham, Donna Barlow-Casey, Chris Lumbra, Jessie Baker, Kevin Casey, Arne McMullen. Introductions and Welcome Meeting called to order by Kim Brittenham, Chair. Approval of the agenda If there is a standing agenda and a standard meeting date, the meetings don’t need to be updated and announced on the website. The agenda was unanimously approved as presented. Committee Priorities The committee reviewed the priorities for 2015. Solicit new committee members, especially people to represent the public should always be a priority. Someone from VCIL should be the new Chair when Kim leaves in July but with budget cuts there, her position isn’t being filled and the time crunch due to the budget cuts won’t have the time to Chair this committee. Continue working with community partners to ensure accessibility – possibly via Montpelier Alive! Encourage event coordinators within the city to adopt accessibility. Promoting the 25th Anniversary of ADA and adopt the proclamation. Fulfilling the quarterly plan. To have someone in each department attend the meetings to understand ADA compliance as it pertains to their section. Ensure the City’s website to be compliant. Work continues with funding for the Rec Building. Review and Approve Meeting Minutes from January 6, 2015 There was a motion and a second to approve the minutes as presented. The motion carried.
