Minutes
o Approved minutes from March meeting without edits.
Green Stormwater Infrastructure
o 1 inch storm in Montpelier ~98,000,000 gallons of water, or 146 olympic pools
o LID methods
Avoid and minimize
Control future impacts
o Enhance site plan review
Economic benefits
Reduce regulatory hurdles
Avoid MS4 designation under clean water act
Be proactive in terms of stormwater
o Working on road widths and fire truck requirements
o LID should be easiest path for development
o Soil restoration is part of stormwater design
o 1 inch design storm that makes up 90% of storms
o Use native materials
o Green stormwater infrastructure (GSI)=stuff we put on ground that mimics nature

o Low-impact development (LID)=non-structural design approach

Regional Forest Project
o 70% forest is non-industrial private land in need of management
Owned by 88,000 landowners
Each manage land individually
o GIS and stakeholder regional analysis

o 2016 regional plan updated every 8 years
o Challenge to reach all landowners
o Link regional forest plan to regional plan
o Consider plan in act 250

7:00-7:15 Review minutes
7:15-8:00 Presentation by Justin Kenney, Green Infrastructure Coordinator, community
educational/workshops relating to green infrastructure.
8:00-8:45 Presentation on the Central VT Regional Planning Commission in partnership with the
Dept. of Forests, Parks & Recreation project entitled Landscape-Based Forest
Stewardship Planning - A Regional Approach. The project is a coordinated attempt to
increase the scale and pace of sustainable management of private forest lands across
the state. More information can be found on the CVRPC website. In an attempt to gain
additional input, CVRPC is meeting with Conservation Commissions throughout the
Region.
