Montpelier Senior Activity Center 58 Barre Street, Montpelier, VT 05602 A Place for Healthy Aging and Lifelong Learning 802-223-2518 • msac@montpelier-vt.org • montpelier-vt.org/msac Advisory Council Meeting Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in the Resource Room 2:30 – 3:35 pm (afternoon meeting – first meeting of new Council) Attending: Sue Stukey, Janet Ressler, Bob Barrett, Liz Dodd, Susan Torchia, Bill Doelger, Jessica Sanderson, Wendy Freundlich, Paul Irons, Director Janna Clar, and Community Services Strategic Planning Facilitators Delia Clark and Tim Traver Acting Chair, Sue Stukey, convened the meeting at 2:39. Introductions included two new members, Wendy Freundlich and Paul Irons; third new member, John Hopkins, was unable to attend. Jessie Baker, Assistant City Manager, was on vacation and unable to attend. Sue asked for Advisory Council officers’ nominations for FY17, and voting resulted in the following elected seats:  Bob Barret, Chair  Lisbeth Dodd, Vice Chair  Jessica Sanderson, Secretary After discussion, it was agreed the MSAC Advisory Council members will meet the third Monday of each month, for one hour, from 12 – 1 pm. The location will be decided before July 18, the next scheduled meeting, if the Resource Room at MSAC is not available. Discussion of committee assignments was postponed until the next meeting due to time running short. Delia Clark and Tim Traver, Integrated Community Services Strategic Planning Facilitators for the City, presented the Flip Chart responses from the prior MSAC Annual Meeting in the Community Room, and encouraged discussion and suggestions from the council members and their visions for MSAC and Montpelier. The facilitators’ findings and recommendations from public forums and survey results will be presented at the Public Forum in the Community Room at MSAC on Tuesday, October 11th at 6:30.
