Montpelier Senior Activity Center 58 Barre Street, Montpelier, VT 05602 A Place for Healthy Aging and Lifelong Learning 802-223-2518 • msac@montpelier-vt.org • montpelier-vt.org/msac 2ND DRAFT Advisory Council Meeting Minutes September 17, 2018 12:30 – 3:00 PM MSAC Resource Room, 58 Barre Street, Montpelier, Vermont Meeting convened at 12:35 PM Present at Roll Call: Chair Bob Barrett, Mary Carlson, Liz Dodd, Bill Doelger, Fran Krushenick, Barbara Ladabouche, Dianne Maccario, Eric Rajendra, dianne richardson Director Janna Clar AC Members not present: Laura Morse A quorum (6) was exceeded Guest: Mary Alice Bisbee July 16, 2018 Minutes were approved with change adding that Advisory Council voted to approve the FY19 GASP action plan as revised during that meeting. Votes  In Executive Session, Mary Alice Bisbee was approved to finish the remainder of Sue Stukey’s term through June of 2019  MSAC Governance Policies and Procedures document amendments were approved  First in Fitness contract was approved by AC members (Director addendum later: proposed contract was changed multiple times by First in Fitness and not signed) Announcements  Janna will be speaking October 26th at the Killington Aging in Vermont Conference organized by the Vermont Association of Area Agencies on Aging (V4A) and the Vermont Association of Senior Centers and Meal Providers (VASCAMP) and she encouraged the Advisory Council members to attend.  Montpelier’s website will have a platform to show their progress on city matters and eventually plans to include a Citizen Dashboard for residents to navigate. Director's Notes  Available at the MSAC front office. Discussions: Liz Dodd and dianne richardson reported on their progress with the Safety Committee and wish to hold a Safety Drill in October. Janna agreed to upgrade the building’s First Aid kits to include tourniquets and explained that permission to make MSAC a weapons free zone had to be approved by the City Council. The first Accreditation Standard is basically completed so teams will concentrate on the other 8, and an orientation session for accreditation teams and partners will be on Thursday, September 20th. Actions  Mary Carlson requests help from the AC Members for the Code of Ethics needed for the Accreditation, please email any language or edits directly to her.  Invite Todd Provencher to discuss City budget. Add to November 19, 2018 Agenda:  Increasing Annual Meeting turn out.  Todd Provencher budget presentation.  Accreditation update with possible vote to add new ethics language to the Governance.
