Public Presentation – There was not a public presentation this month.
Minutes from May 2014 were motioned to approve by Andrea and Karlynn 2nd.
FINANCIAL:
Arne went over the financial reports with the Board. The budget is on course; revenues are up by
$33,000 and the comparisons are in line with last year.
OLD BUSINESS:
Pool Rails: The new pool rails have now been installed and they are able to be taken out when
summer is over.
Pool Raft Repairs: Pool raft repairs were quoted for almost $7,000 so the Maintenance men fixed
it themselves for about $1,000.00.
Mountaineers Budget: Arne handed out the Mountaineer’s budget. The Board felt that the
Mountaineers should be paying their fair share of what they use, i.e. electric, water, sewer, during
the summer months when they are washing the bleachers and using lights and sewer. Arne has
indicated to Brian Gallagher that this is a possibility in the near future. It was suggested that Arne
go through the utilities and break it down to see exactly what the direct costs are. Arne said he
will have estimates for July’s meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
Power Box at Tennis Courts: The power box has now been repaired and was raised up off the
ground and lights now come on with a timer.
Pool House Painting: Day Camp Staff are in the midst of painting the inside of the pool house
with bright colors and getting ready for opening day.
DIRECTOR’S REPORT:
We are in the midst of getting all the rec fields ready for the summer. June 26th starts the Tri-
Athlon with July 10th and 24th as the follow up dates. Arne has suggested that we put mats on the
light poles at Dog River in the outfield so if people run into them, they are less likely to get hurt.
There has been a concern over Swim Team and the times they use the pool. They would like to
use the pool in the evening rather than the morning but after speaking with Arne and checking with
their coaches, it was decided to keep Swim Team practices in the morning. Buzz agreed to stay on
the Board till June 2015, Karlynn will let Arne know of her decision to stay another year.
PROGRAM DIRECTOR REPORT:
The pool opened on June 7th with minimal hours during the week until school ends. Swim lessons
are filling up quickly and the Youth Adventure Camp is full. Tennis has been slow to start this
season but hoping it will pick up. The Basketball Tournament ended up being a 1 day event with 5
teams participating.
Motion was made by Karlynn to adjourn the meeting at 7:00 p.m. and Ena 2nd.
THE NEXT ADVISORY BOARD MEETING WILL BE HELD ON
