Montpelier Recreation Department Advisory Board Meeting Minutes February 8, 2016 Attendees: Karlynn Koenemann, James “Buz” Surwilo Absent Board Members: Andrea Talentino, Sue Aldrich, Tom Goloka (City Council) Attending Recreational Department Staff: Jenny Bartlett-Hardy, Arne McMullen Attending Senior Center Staff: Janna Clar Attending Senior Center Board: Gretchen Whit Dall, Liz Dodd Attending Senior Finance Committee: Tina Muncy Attending From Community: Gretchen Elias Call to order 5:35 p.m. I. Public Presentations a. Great Idea combining. b. Working on a Strategic Plan. c. Who needs to be included. d. Talk of Registration. Flat fee at Rec. Dept. Senior Center no fee. We could add on to Senior Acct. II. Approval of December 2015, January 2016 Minutes a. Could not approve. Did not have a quorum. III. Financial Statements a. Looked over. Did not have a quorum. IV. Old Business a. Baseball i. Approved by Little League to merge. ii. Each town will register their own players and bring paperwork to Montpelier. V. New Business a. Board Member Applicant i. Gretchen Elias – Went over the board process. b. Path to Pavilion i. DPW will help out with bid. The city may do some of the work. c. Rec. Building Discussion i. The city will have a meeting to discuss the Rec. building. ii. Facility use numbers were put together to reflect use of gym. iii. Need a place to operate if the building sells or at least a strategic plan. iv. A time line to sell/move/renovate.  VI. Program Coordinator/Pool Director’s Report a. Father/Daughter Dance. i. Volunteers needed. ii. Thinking of more long term contracts. b. Girls on the Run i. Filled three days into registration VII. Other Business a. Senior Center Rummage Sale – 4/8, Drop-off on 4/1. VIII.
