and
approval
of
last
minutes
(June)

Update
by

on
six
new
trees
planted
in
June
(Bagitos,
Aubuchons,
Skinny
Pancake,
School/Main,
Asiana
House,
Washington
County
Courthouse);
all
seem
to
be
doing
well.
•
Summer
watering
issues:
•
New
hoses
(2-‐50’
and
2-‐75’)
were
purchased
and
are
stored
in
John
S
garage
for
use
by
all
•
John
S
and
Abby
have
collected
data
for
the
downtown
map
or
water
taps;
John
S
will
complete
the
map
•
Watering
may
be
needed
throughout
September
;
Cara
and
Shelly
offered
to
help
as
needed.
•
Update
from
Stephanie
on
nursery:
•
Two
groups
of
Int’l
Peace
volunteers
have
mowed,
pulled
up
fabric
and
put
down
woodchips.
The
place
looks
great.
Trees
are
ready
to
be
moved
this
fall!
•
Update
from
John
A
about
Emerald
Ash
Borer
(EAB)
plan
Critical
to
inventory
street
ash
trees,
with
or
w/o
GPS
We
need
to
delete
ash
from
our
official
planting
list
Ash
and
Norway
Maple
can
be
confusing
but
Ash
leaves
fall
first
Two
workdays
will
be
scheduled
in
late
Sept
John
&
John
will
get
with
City
Council
on
October
23rd
to
introduce
EAB
plan
•
Update
from
Geoff
and
Bob
about
inventory
and
software
Bob
had
Open
Tree
Map
set
up
and
running
A
“cloud”
version
is
coming
(basic
version
is
free)
John
A
is
using
Google
Fusion,
also
cloud
based,
Current
needs
are
being
met
but
we
want
to
stay
open
to
future
needs
too
Bob,
Geoff
&
John
A
will
get
together
to
discuss
what
is
next
Other
business:
•
Geoff
reported
that
a
new
round
of
American
Forest
Grants
are
available
to
purchase
more
street
trees.
He
will
see
what
it
will
take
to
apply
and
update
us
at
the
October
meeting.
•
Montpelier
Alive
(Park)ing
Day
(Sept
20):
We
will
set
up
along
with
Parks
and
North
Branch
Nature
Center
in
front
of
Capitol
Grounds.
•
Come
to
the
October
meeting
ready
to
schedule
workdays
for
planting
out
trees,
Jeff
will
tag
trees
that
can
be
barerooted
and
fall
planted.
John
S
will
determine
a
few
more
locations
to
plant.
•
Sarah
asked,
via
email,
that
all
continue
to
update
volunteer
hours
on
the
shared
Google
document.
