SPECIAL MEETING January 23, 2017: The Special Meeting of the Common Council of the City of Morgantown was held in the Council Chambers on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 5:36 p.m. PRESENT: City Clerk’s Secretary Heather Carl, Assistant City Manager Glen Kelly, Mayor Marti Shamberger, Deputy Mayor Bill Kawecki and Council Members, Ron Bane, Wes Nugent, Jenny Selin, Jay Redmond, and Nancy Ganz. The meeting was called to order by the Mayor. ROLL CALL BY CITY CLERK’S SECRETARY: EXECUTIVE SESSION: Pursuant to WV State Code Section 6-9A-4(b) (2) (A) motion by Bane, second by Ganz to go into executive session in order to discuss recruitment for a new City Manager. Present: Council Time: 5:37 p.m. SPECIAL MEETING: Council went back into special meeting at 5:45 p.m. Motion by Bane, second by Kawecki, to accept the contract items for the new City Manager. Motion carried 7-0. Motion by Selin, second by Bane, to hire Paul Brake as the new City Manager. Motion carried 7.0.
