QCitp of :!Morgantown MINUTES COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING Januar y 31, 2023 The Committee of the Whole Meeting of the Common Council of the City of Morgantown was held in Monongalia County Commission Chambers. on Tuesday. January 31. 2023. at 7:08 p.m. PRESENT: City Manager Kirn Haws. Assistant City Manager Emily Muzzarelli. City Attorney Ryan Simonton. Mayor Jenny Selin. Deputy Mayor Danielle Trumble. and Council Members. Dave Harshbarger. and Brian Butcher. Councilor JoeAbu-Ghannam. Councilor Bill Kawecki. and Councilor lxya Vega were absent. The meeting was called to order by Deputy Mayor Trumble. PRESENTATIONS: None PUBLIC PORTION: Deputy Mayor Trumble opened the public po1tion and asked if there was anyone wishing to speak. James Giuliani, 256 Prairie Avenue. mentioned that he has been going around collecting signatures for the upcoming 2023 Municipal City Election and stated that it has been nice to hear the good and also the bad. Some of the issues that was talked about is the lee Rink. South High Fire Station. Downtown. and the Wharf District. Susan Riddle Director of Visit Mountaineer Country CYB gave a tentative annual report for 2022. and the upcoming for 2023. Marty Ynigues, 1093 Sabraton Avenue. mentioned the ational Census HUD required annual point in time count had a good turnout and hoped that the city and county can get more involved. There being no one else wishing to speak, Deputy Mayor Trumble closed the Public Portion. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION: A. An Ordinance providing for the Zoning Reclassification of Certain Parcels of Real Estate in the Second Ward of the City of Morgantown from 8-1, Neighborhood Business District to 8-4, General Business District Amending Article 1331 of the Planning and Zoning Code of the City of Morgantown as shown on the hereto attached and declared to be a part of this Ordinance as if the same were fully set forth herein Director of Development Services Rickie Yeager explained. After discussion. this item was moved to the February 7. 2023. Regular Meeting Agenda. 8. Proposed contract with Republic Serv ices for Solid Waste Services City Manager Kim Haws explained.
