Health and Wellness Meeting
Thursday September 5, 2019
Council Chambers at 7:00pm
PRESENT: Colleen Harshbarger, Olivia Pape, Hannah Keyser, Kimberly Kelly, David Loomis
Absent: Ryan Lewis, BoParc Representative, Jenny Selin
The meeting was called to order at 7:06 pm.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Motion to amend minutes from 8/1/19
Minutes from 8/1/19 were approved with changes
PUBLIC PORTION:
A. Presentation by director of SPARK Imagination Center, Julie Bryan
a. SPARK encourages learning through play, growing through play, and provides an
opportunity for children and their adults to be together
b. WIC and EBT families have free admission
c. Museum is looking for a bigger space to move into and expanded hours
d. Possible opportunity for HWC to partner with museum and sponsor an event about health
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
A. Blue Zones
a. Highmark is interested in meeting for discussion of Blue Zones
NEW BUSINESS:
A. Naming for HWC
a. All in agreement to go with Live Well Morgantown
B. Website/ Developer
a. All in agreement to go with Mind Merge
C. Subcommittees
a. Social/Website
b. Organizational Partnering
c. Community Engagement/ Events/Outreach
D. Lungevity Event September 29, 2019
a. All in agreement to support event; giving sunscreen, teaching breathing exercises
