Call to Order and Approval of Agenda * Chair Ash Orr called the meeting to order at 6:47pm * Vice Chair Jan Derry made a motion to approve the agenda as-is. Chair Ash Orr seconded; no discussion; motion passed 2. Task / Project List Updates - led by Vice Chair Jan Derry * Land Acknowledgement - no updates * Indigenous Peoples’ Day Resolution - The idea is to now submit options to the council for deliberation. However, the MHRC is in agreement that none of the provided options should combine the celebration of IDP and Columbus Day. - Jan was curious as to if we/Bonnie had had an opportunity to meet with those who oppose our IDP Resolution. Bonnie will be reaching out to form that connection. - Next steps: Committee on IPD will meet again to work on various solution option on Monday, December 6th at 6:30pm via Zoom *Human Rights Day Celebration - We need to pick through posters to set up. We will be setting up on December 5th with the opening evening on December 7th at the MAC. - Don will be making pamphlets - Jan and Don will manage food - Zac Morton has agreed to be the speaker at the event while Ash will be the MC - Ash will handle press release and emailing past attendees 3. Public Portion - no speakers 4. Approval of October 2021 Minutes - Jan made a motion to accept the September 2021 HRC Minutes as is, Ash seconded. Don abstained due to not having time to review. Motion passed. 5. Communications  * Tim Hairston - No quorum at state meeting; next meeting is 12/6/21 * Jan Derry - Budget submission; unsure as to if we need to submit a budget but she will keep us updated as typically budget submissions are due December 22nd. 6. Priority Items *Just Transitions - this relates to coal miners and their communities. Don has been in contact with Delegate Evan Hansen on how the MHRC can be of assistance. He will be reaching out to Delegate Hansen to see if he can attend our next MHRC meeting. *Legislative Docket - sent on November 17th, 2021 by Chair Ash Orr to the City Manager, Mayor, and all of council 7. New Business * Move the Environmental concerns and potential CT Ban edits to the project list 8. Looking Ahead 12/5 - Set-up for HRD Celebration 12/6 - Committee on IPD Resolution Meeting via Zoom at 6:30pm 12/7 - HRD Celebration Event at the MAC 12/16 - Next MHRC Meeting via Zoom at 6:30pm 9.
