REPORT OF THE LIBRARY DIRECTOR & BRANCH UPDATES  Morgantown Public Library and Cheat Area Public Library statistics have increased. Circulation for these two sites show more print materials than digital and digital circulation has not dropped.  The new Morgantown Public Library app is available. A big marketing push will take place in August 2021. Mountain Lion buses have flyer slots which will potentially allow advertising of the new app.  The Morgantown Public Library System will be having a full page advertisement in the Morgantown Magazine in fall targeting back to school and library items that are kids related. A Pantry Plus More Bash flyer and a flyer on how to get a library card without coming in to the library.  Cheat Area Game Collection has launched and many have been checked out. We are receiving donations of games now. We will hold on to them at this point and may use for extra pieces.  Due to space and storage limits within the library, the Literacy Volunteers will no longer have a dedicated space. This was communicated in May. No one has come at this point. The room should be completely available for library use after the end of July.  Ready to Read at New York Libraries: an Early Childhood Public Library Staff Development Program is a 4 hour training for storytime providers focusing on developing relationships with the attendees. The storytime programmers will be viewing the training and Sarah Palfrey will meet with the programmers in August to discuss.  John Fox has been hired as the cataloging assistant.  Library assistants will be trained for any public service position. This will provide staff a greater understanding of public service as a whole and allow for more flexibility in staffing. Board Minutes – July 15, 2021 – Page 2  Clinton District Public Library and Clay-Battelle Public Library are still very slow and are looking for ways to increase circulation. Cheat has resumed using volunteers to help shelve books and has returned to pre- COVID-19 activity. UNFINISHED BUSINESS  COVID-19 plan – o There is currently a mix of staff and patrons wearing masks. Many patrons still come in and request a mask. Masks are not required in public schools this summer or fall. Summer camps are requiring masks. In person library programming may resume in November and is subject to change based on more current COVID-19 information. o Cheat Area Public Library has returned to using their meeting room. In the Morgantown Public Library, Meeting Room B is storing furniture removed from the floor due to COVID-19 and Meeting Room A houses dislocated supplies and need moved to the former Literacy Room once the Literacy Volunteers of Monongalia and Preston Counties move their supplies. The current intention is to open meeting rooms in November.  Invoice payment options – No discussion. Stricken from the agenda.  Health Insurance – Discussion followed. Sarah Palfrey and Kelly Funkhouser will work together to provide numbers for the board to discuss during the August 2021 meeting.
